About Me

Hello and welcome to Faith Haas Therapy.

Many of the adults I work with are carrying trauma from earlier in their lives. It may have happened when they were young and been pushed down for years, only to surface strongly in adulthood – as anxiety, numbness, or relationships that don't work the way you want. Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming and vulnerable, and you deserve a space where you feel safe, understood, and able to speak openly without fear of judgment. I believe the therapeutic relationship is a foundational part of the healing process, and I'm honored to work alongside you.

I want to understand your story – how your experiences have shaped you, and where you hope for change and healing. Using an attachment-based lens, we'll explore the patterns that developed in your earliest relationships and how they continue to shape the ones you're in now. Through IFS-informed work, I'll support you in understanding the different parts of yourself – the ones that protect, the ones that struggle, and the ones that just want to be heard. Together, we'll build emotional awareness, self-compassion, and a greater sense of self-acceptance. I incorporate somatic work to build connection between mind and body, honoring that connecting with the body can feel difficult when past trauma lingers. We'll move at a pace that feels safe and supportive for you.

My background

I was a stay-at-home mom before I decided to return to school to build a career of my own. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services in 2020 from California State University, Fullerton. I continued my education at CSUF to earn a Master of Science in Counseling, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, in 2023. My education shaped how I understand this work, but so does my life experience – the years I've spent raising my children taught me just as much about patience, growth, and change.

During my undergraduate studies, I completed California's 40-hour domestic violence counselor training, which prepared me for my practicum experience in graduate school. I worked at Laura's House, a domestic violence agency in Orange County, where I provided individual therapy to survivors and facilitated educational groups. That period shaped how I understand survivors and complex trauma, and it's part of why I move at whatever pace feels safe for each client.

My graduate training introduced psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, somatic work and Internal Family Systems as the models I have studied most closely since. It is where my own way of working leans, and I bring it into sessions where it fits.

I have been seeing clients since 2022. Before opening this practice, I spent two years at Heredia Therapy Group, working with diverse individuals, couples, and families across a wide range of concerns – often with people who were new to therapy and unsure where to start. Working with a variety of people and concerns is what taught me to meet each client where they are, rather than following the same approach for everyone.

I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.

The approaches I draw on

My work blends three threads. Which one leads depends entirely on what you bring.

Somatic work

Paying attention to what your body is doing while we talk – the tightening, the holding, the going numb – and using grounding and breath to help your nervous system settle. Connecting with the body can feel difficult when past trauma lingers, so we go slowly and you stay in charge of the pace.

Internal Family Systems

A way of getting curious about the different parts of you, including the ones that seem to be working against you. The part that wants everyone's approval, the part that goes quiet in conflict, the part that criticizes you before anyone else can. None of them are the problem. Understanding what each one is trying to protect tends to loosen things faster than arguing with them does.

Attachment-based work

How your earliest relationships taught you what to expect from people, and how those expectations still shape your relationships now. When the same conflict keeps arriving with different people, that pattern usually has a history worth understanding.

Who I work with

I work with adults navigating challenges related to emotional expression, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, parenting transitions, and recovery. I also work with couples, and with families – particularly parents and their adult children – to strengthen communication, navigate conflict, and build more meaningful and connected relationships.

My practice is for adults 18 and older.

I am LGBTQ+ affirming and committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive space where clients can explore their identities and experiences without fear of judgment. As a biracial Black and Mexican woman, I understand firsthand how racial and cultural identity shapes the way we move through the world – and I bring that understanding into how I work with clients exploring their own. I recognize that our family backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences shape how we view ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us, and I strive to understand these important parts of each client's story.

Where I practice

My office is in Anaheim Hills, where I see clients in person. I also work by telehealth, which means I can see anyone physically located in California at the time of the session. Clients come to me from across Orange County – Irvine, Santa Ana, Anaheim, Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, Tustin, Orange, Fullerton – and throughout the state.

What the first session is like

You don't have to share everything at once. In our first session we get to know each other, talk about what matters most to you right now, and choose a starting point together.

If I'm not the right fit, I'm glad to help you find someone who is.
